京都市勸業(yè)館(Miyako Messe)

Miyako Messe, or as it is more formally known, the Kyoto International Exhibition Hall is a large exhibition hall – one of two in Kyoto – located in the neighbourhood of Okazaki.

The venue plays host to both large business events and art & craft shows of various sizes. The basement of the venue is also the home of the Kyoto ‘Fureai-kan’ – the Kyoto Museum of Traditional Crafts. The permanent display features exhibitions of wood-block prints, gold-leaf art works and lacquer ware. You can find out more about the Fureai-kan.

Miyako Messe is also home to ‘Nichizu’ – the Japan Designer’s Association and another museum – the Japan Design Museum.
